WORK OF THE NEW HAVEN POLICE ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION TEAM LEADS TO ARREST OF MAN FOR DEATH OF VICTIM IN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

(12/18/2008) NEW HAVEN- The New Haven police have arrested a New Haven man for his involvement in a motor vehicle crash that resulted in the death of Crystal Pappacoda on July 31, 2008. Stephen Lewis, of 20 Clay St., has been charged with Negligent Homicide, Felony Evading, Tampering with Evidence, and numerous motor vehicle violations. Lewis is being held on $200,000 bond. Arrest warrants have also been issued for Kevin Powell of Branford and Corey King of Guilford for their involvement in this incident. The investigation was conducted by Officer James Evarts of the New Haven Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
